The Truth and the Zeitgeist
There are three general groups of people that you will find in the west today, each possessed by one master, the Zeitgeist, the spirit of our age. There are The Cowed, there are The Disinterested, and there are The Vengeful. The Spirit of Truth and Love is always at war with the Zeitgeist. An age ends with a victory of Truth and Love over the Zeitgeist. But a new spirit is always adopted, humans cannot hold onto the Truth that that gave them liberation for very long. The new Zeitgeist will be a cheap and partial copy of the truth that won the battle, easy for normal people to understand providing simple dogmatic arguments at hand to the masses who will forget the subtleties and context that made it relevant and true.
The Weak
The weak know how wrong everything is going, and they hold ideals that are fine during cultural peacetime. They dislike meanness, they just want everyone to get along, they avoid hard conversations, they would rather you just trans your child than kick up a stink about it, even though they know your in the right. The media ensures they never grow a backbone by doing all the things they dislike (meanness, division, and direct accusation), to anyone who raises their head above the parapet. They themselves are so cowed they will condemn anyone who responds in kind.
The Disinterested
The disinterested are just that, they are impossible to motivate. They always vote the same way and never think about it, they don’t want to know what’s going on, they will accuse you of lies and hyperbole if you attempt to rouse them with any story of wrongdoing. They do as they’re told and expect everything to be ok despite the state of the country. They are the largest group, and the media distributes their opiate to them mostly to ensure they stay asleep. They are given useful words to dismiss anyone who would try to wake them, “conspiracy theorist”, “racist”, “far-right”, “anti- current thing”, “-phobe”, “-denier”. They happily deploy their pre-heated dismissal and go back to their comfortable ignorance. While this is happening, they are unwittingly manipulated everyday by the propaganda they cannot help but consume. Nudge by subtle nudge the healthy universal messaging that used to make good (if sometimes predictable) TV is replaced with niche, deranged and demoralising messaging. Eventually any noticeably Christian perspective is removed, any patriotic perspective is removed, family values are flattened into relativism and any sign of virtue is deconstructed on screen.
The Vengeful
Then there are the subjects of this essay. The vengeful, those who are considered woke… actively woke. The disinterested are woke too in the sense they will adopt the spirit of the age in order to be left alone. But the Vengeful Woke are there to make sure none of the disinterested become too interested and destroy them if they do.
The Vengeful Woke, do not represent a force for good or progress, but rather, they are the embodiment of the spirit of hatred and vengeance. They claim to fight for the rights of the oppressed, but their true motivation lies in the satisfaction of their insatiable hunger for retribution. In this sense, they can be likened to the tarantulas that Friedrich Nietzsche describes in his poem "Tarantulas" from "Thus Spoke Zarathustra":
"Lo, this is the tarantula's den! Would'st thou see the tarantula itself? Here hangeth its web: touch this, so that it may tremble. There cometh the tarantula willingly: Welcome, tarantula! Black on thy back is thy triangle and symbol; and I know also what is in thy soul. Revenge is in thy soul: wherever thou bitest, there ariseth black scab; with revenge, thy poison maketh the soul giddy! Thus do I speak unto you in parable, ye who make the soul giddy, ye preachers of EQUALITY! Tarantulas are ye unto me, and secretly revengeful ones!" (Nietzsche, 1883).
The Vengeful Woke, much like the tarantulas, are driven by their venomous desire for revenge. They manipulate the narratives of social justice and equality, but in reality, they are only interested in settling scores and tearing down anyone who dares to oppose them. Their pursuit of justice is a thinly veiled façade, masking the dark impulses that guide their actions.
They do not truly care for the oppressed or seek to empower them. Instead, their actions serve to further entrench divisions in society, exacerbating animosity and resentment. They wage a relentless war against dissenting opinions, ruthlessly cancelling and ostracizing anyone who questions their dogma. This extreme intolerance and vindictiveness reflect the core of their being: the unquenchable thirst for retribution.
The Vengeful Woke's fixation on identity politics only serves to perpetuate their cycle of hate. By emphasizing differences and distinctions, they create an environment ripe for conflict and hostility, all the while masquerading as champions of the downtrodden. In this way, they betray their true nature, revealing themselves as the architects of discord and antagonism.
In sum, the Vengeful Woke, as agents of the Zeitgeist, are not the saviours they purport to be. They are the tarantulas of our age, driven by a poisonous and destructive impulse to exact revenge on those who defy their narrow and unforgiving worldview. It is imperative that we recognize the danger they pose and resist the temptation to embrace their toxic ideology, or even be cowed by it, lest we all become entangled in their venomous web.
